I have a water damaged iPhone 3G that appeared to have non-functioning wifi. Upon further examination it appears it's just got really bad reception. In other words, if I hold it right next to the access point, it will find the network and connect.
Here is what I do know..
- bluetooth works
- gps works
- wifi has very weak/non existent signal.
First I was going to replace the wifi chip, but maybe I just need to replace teh wifi antenna. I can't imagine the antenna would be damaged from water though? or maybe the connection to the main board?
Looking for advice here, since the antenna is a cheap part, Id like to go there first, but maybe someone else can lend a hand or thought?
Thanks!
