Hey... where'd the guides for the older Macs go? When I click on Macs, it takes me right to the Powerbook/MacBo
Older Mac guides?

What exactly are you looking for? The oldest Mac guides that we have are for the PowerBook and iBook G3. We've never desktop mac Guides, with the exception of the Mac Mini and the Apple TV.
If you're confused how to get to a guide from the homepage, we've changed the navigation around so that you navigate to your device first, then pick a guide. For example, to get to and iBook G3 Clamshell hard drive install, you'd navigate Mac -> iBook -> iBook G3 Clamshell and then pick Hard Drive.
What was confusing to you? We're working on improving the navigation, and we'd love your feedback.

Mac Mini Guides, where are they?

Guides for the Mac Mini Power PC are listed on the Mac Mini device page. That page is not presently accessible from the Mac family, but you can search for them.

Is the Original Intel 20" iMac with the Core Duo Processor upgradeable with a Core 2 Duo Processor? I had heard that the first gen Intel iMacs had a socketed processor that could be upgraded.

@guiguix, @dbrusky, @psalz, @SkyDweller1:
We don't have guides for these devices. Historically, the reason was that we only sell Mac laptop parts and iPod / iPhone parts, but we may reconsider if there's enough demand.
What devices do the most people need repair guides for? Which Macs fail most often? Would anyone be interested in helping us make guides or troubleshooting pages for their device?

I have need for a power supply for a Power mac G4 purchased on 2001. A guide for this machine would be helpful.

I'd love to see iMac guides and eMac guides, but see no real reason for a guide on the towers. Those are self explanatory. If you have the skills to make use of the self-help guides, you can do the towers sans guide easily.

We've historically felt the same way-- installing a hard drive in an iMac is a LOT harder than in a Mac Pro. That said, we are very open to suggestions and feedback. We're watching this thread, so keep up the suggestions!

I just wanted to add my vote for iMac guides, at least for the more recent models (G5 and up.)

Agreed. Your guides are great it would be nice to see them for the new Intel iMacs 20 or 24 inch models. I have both a desktop and a laptop, and refer to here often for the guides in hopes that you will soon have an iMac guide as well. It would be nice if throughout the guides there might be links for the upgrades available through your website as well. This would kinda make it like a one stop shop, for help and parts. Also, for the intel macs, can you upgrade the processor or video cards.
Thank you
JM
