sirgemhl hi guys,
my iphone screen cracked but the touch screen still works. i can see everything fine and its just that the glass bit is cracked.
i was wondering if i need the actual touchscreen digitizer component, or if i could just get the lens part which is only 10 bucks on ebay...

Kyle Wiens The screen and the touch sensor are glued together. We haven't figured out a good way to separate them.

tacanus It is a very delicate operation... i tried to separate the broken glass piece by piece with a plastic object. try to heat the glass and the digitizer with an hair dryer and then... piece by piece... the chances to get it separated are 10%... the tricky part is when you have to glue them together... the hair dryer is no longer use, you will need a glue gun [it is used in making bulletproof glass].. the same like the glue used in attaching the digitizer to the glass. good luck!
