How do you fix a broken powerbook LCD hinge,The part that holds the LCD up and down both sides broke and now the LCD wont stay up.

I have a 667 MHZ Titanium DVI G4 powerbook that was given to me. that i want to fix , The Hinges on both sides are broken,the Laptop will not stay up when you try to open it.

take the back of a stand up photo frame and tape it to the outside of the lid with display; you can now prop it open adequately although it is not the same as a new hinge.

You have to find replacement clutch assemblies (what that part is termed in Macland) or replacement top assemblies with the clutch included. You can find these or an entire for repair only machine on eBay.
There are how to's here at iFixit, and parts for some models.
