Identification and Background ¶
The iRobot Roomba 4100 is an early model autonomous vacuum cleaner. It has an all red body and features the "spot" and "clean" buttons. The 4100 measures in at 18.4" x 14.8" x 4.5", weighing 10.2 pounds.
The 4100 uses a dirt detection system with infra-red cliff sensors to navigate over almost any surface for about 2 hours per battery charge. It also features an edge cleaning side brush and a virtual wall system to keep it confined to a desired area.
This model is part of Roomba's Discovery series which also includes the Roomba Scheduler, Discovery, and Sage. The 4100 is the most basic model of the series. Its no longer in production by iRobot, but repair parts are still readily available online.
