Identification and Background ¶
The iPad is a tablet computer announced by Apple on January 27, 2010. It contains many of the same features as Apple's iPhone, but is more than twice the size.
It features multi-touch interaction with print, video, photo, and audio multimedia, internet browsing, and runs most iPhone OS apps. The device has an LED-backlit 9.7-inch color LCD display and uses a virtual keyboard for text input, although one of the optional accessories offered by Apple is an iPad keyboard dock.
This version also includes pay-per-month 3G connectivity, enabling it to download/upload content even if no Wi-Fi connection is available.
