Background and Identification ¶
The Asus Eee Pc 1005HA is mini-notebook first manufactured and released by Asus in June of 2009. It comes in three models, ranging from least expensive to most expensive, 1005HA-B, 1005HA-V, and 1005HA-P. The 1005HA-B is the least expensive with a 3-cell battery and a 4-hour battery life, while the 1005HA-P is the most expensive with a 6-cell battery, a 10.5 hour battery life, and slightly better processing speed.
In both appearance and performance, the 1005HA models are virtually identical to their predecessor, the 1008HA. They follow Asus’ “Seashell” design, where the screen hinges to sit behind the base rather than on top of it. Some subtle differences between the two models are that the 1005HA models have the Eee Pc logo on the upper left of the screen, and have uncovered ports, unlike the 1008HA’s plastic coverings.
The best way to identify the notebook is to turn it over and read the serial number and service code.
