My Problem
Not enough space
My Fix
It was very interesting but at the same time easy with so detail inctruction from site iFixit. Thanks!
My Advice
Thanks iFixit. YOu make our life easier ;)
My Problem
500gb x2 was not enough for the server.
My Fix
All went pretty well although I didn't know I needed a special tool to back out the logic board.
My Advice
I used two wooden skewers as my Logic Board Removal Tool. I used my pocket knife to narrow down the ends. Wood was less abrasive than using a small screwdriver. Also, the guide only covers the removal of one hard drive (the bottom bay). To remove the second drive, you'll have to go ahead and remove the board entirely to gain access.
My Problem
i want more space on my macbook, so i bought a 1 TB hd.
My Fix
the repair goes well, it was very simple and quick, no hard passages!
My Advice
Don't worry, it's very simple!
My Problem
Needed more disk space.
My Fix
Between your excellent toolkit
and your project mat
and, above all, your great instructions,
it went without a hitch!
My Advice
I cannot think of any way to improve this particular project.
Everything was exactly as shown. NO surprises!
My Problem
Running out of disk space...didn't want to buy a new machine...
I have a MacBook from late 2008 when Apple made the aluminum unibody and didn't call it a MacBook Pro. I love my Mac and did not want to spend more money on a new Mac until this machine no longer supports OS updates. So I wanted to up my operating speed by installing a 120gig Solid State Drive as my primary and to install a 1terabyte SATA drive in place of my optical drive for all my music, data, documents, etc.
My Fix
The repair was easy...because I did my homework studying everything on ifixit.com. I determined my needs and what would work on my particular machine and ordered it from iFixit.com. It all came quickly and in good working order. I followed the step-by-step instructions and used SuperDuper to transfer all my data from my old bootable drive. The next morning I awoke to a fresh solid state bootable drive. I installed the new drive and BAM! My computer is moving at BLAZING speed! And I have a whole terabyte to store al sorts of stuff. Oh, I also bought a portable Multi-Drive so I can still install DVD's and Cd's.
My Advice
Follow ifixit directions to the letter. They really did a great job and for the price of one-half of a new low-end macine I got my old machine crankin' and doing just fine. I shouldn't need another machine for several years now.
Watch out for stripping screws. Those tiny little buggers will strip if you are not careful. Set the screw driver in the screw and press firmly, then carefully turn the driver.
My Problem
the hard drive i my computer just stopped working and i got the flashing ?.
My Fix
Easy as pie take out the battery, remove 3 screws take off cover and pull out the hard drive.
My Advice
remember to format the hard drive.
My Problem
The original Mac Hard disk drive was close to be full with 265 GB. I ordered 1TB hard disk drive from IFixit.
My Fix
The delivery was timely and the installation was simple. I only had some software problems that Apple should solve.
My Advice
No
My Problem
I ran out of HDD space long ago and have been using external USB drives to help extend my storage
My Fix
Could not have gone smoother. Your "how to" guides were great and took any guesswork out of the process. It literally took 5 minutes to do the replacement.
I did a Disk Utility format, plugged in my Lion recovery USB, and then my time machine backup. I was back in business in 2 hours!
My Advice
Keep up the great work!!
My Problem
There is not enough storage space on the mini with only 500GB.
My Fix
Everything went fine and I followed the guide on iFixit to plug in my dual hard drive kit.
My Advice
Be sure to check you plug the fan properly when rebuilding your mini!
My Problem
No prob just neded the space
My Fix
With out a hitch. Cloning took more time than accessing and changing the drive
My Advice
No necessary to disc. the keyboard
