Problem with fans at full speed Ts0P Palm Rest Sensor at Fault
This question is archived. No new answers are allowed, and only the question's owner may edit it.
Hello!
I have an early 2008 Macbook Pro model A1260 with the 2.6 Ghz processor and 512 MB Video RAM option and as soon as I turn it on I get the fans at full speed 6000 rpm.
I ran the Apple hardware test and it found the following error:
SNS/1/40000000:
which indicades that the Ts0P Palm Rest Temp Sensor is at fault. With the computer running the iStat program report that this sensor reads 45 degrees celcius to 55 degrees celcius, which indicates that there is communication with this sensor but probably the value is erroneous and too high so the fans kick in at full throttle.
Does anyone know where this sensor is located and which part should I buy to replace it?
Thanks,
Best Regards,
-
