New Battery Not Working

History

Hi i recently purchased a used iPhone 3GS and it needed a new battery. So I found this site and how to do it. I had ordered the replacement battery and followed the instructions as close I could and thought that I had did it right. The problem I am having now is that the phone will not turn on, but when it is plugged in it acts like it is turning on and then just turns off after showing the Apple logo. is this something I did wrong or what?

Junk battery is not giving the phone enough even power to boot the phone.
