display - need to replace

It appears that someone shut the laptop with something on the keyboard. I can't see a crack in the screen, but about 2 thirds of the screen is distorted and not viewable. I can see Windows boot prompts on the left third of the screen. I have removed all the screws that I can see but can't get the back cover or top cover/keyboard off. There are no guides on this site for it yet.

Got the screen. Installed it. Now the power button is acting up. Once in a while it will work. What the heck could I have done?
