I bought an iPad 3rd gen that had a broke digitizer and LCD. I am pretty good at electronics (went to school for it) so I was doin the repair myself. After putting it back together, I noticed the screen was dimmer on one side than the other. I thought this was a faulty LCD screen at first and got another one but it too did the same thing. I have done a lot of searching and have tried all the obvious steps (reseating the cable, leaving the battery disconnected for 15 min, restored the iPad) to no avail. I think I must have shorted the LED driver on the main board. I know that there have been fixes in the past for the iPad 2 and was just wondering if anyone has found a solution to a problem like this.
