overheating,and also one question about graphic card

Hello,i would like for someone to explain me why sometimes when i play game it overheats and it shut down.I have a cooling system.Should i take it to an expert to clean it?.Also..i am noticing it has low fps is some games.What do you think i should do?Should i buy a new graphics card? i have ati readon hd 5650 1gb..maybe 2gb is better?3gb? thnx..
could mean a lack of ventilation hopefully not, cause you say you have a cooling system. before you go switching out the graphics card what is your systems Ram?

i have 4gb ram (3,86 says i can use) and also my prossesor? not sure what word is :D is..intel(R) core(tm) i5 cpu m460 @ 2.53 ghz... i am thinkg changing the card into a Club 3D RADEON HD 7970 or Sapphire RADEON HD 7970 - 3 GB. i am not sure if i can change it..any suggestions of any other graphics card would be nice.. cause now i play prototype 2 and it like 10-20 fps..
