MacBook Pro 15in early 2011 screen swap

History

Is it possible to do a screen swap with a MacBook pro 15in 2.53 mid 2009? The front glass is cracked on my MacBook pro 15in early 2011 and I want to swap it with an older MacBook pro. Can the whole unit be swapped? Or can just the glass be swapped? Also the LCD is undamaged. Any help would be greatly spperciated.

JJ,

The glass may be difficult to acquire individually with out unibody display housing. Glass is tempered an heated in to display with thermal glue.

However, if one can acquire the glass, glue, and proper heating it seems possible
