Do you hear a start-up chime?

Have you done command-option-p-r boot? Have you done command-s; fsck -fy

When plugged in what color is the light on the end of the magsafe?

Answer these and we'll see what to try next.

Good Luck,

N.

Thanks Mayer for the proofing! =8^o

What's fsc-y? Do you really want to get them into the command structure without complete instructions? Did you mean /sbin/fsck -fy ?

Try starting up from your installation disk. Insert the disk into your external optical drive and restart holding down the "C" key. If it boots go to the second screen and use the pull down menu to open Utilities- Disk Utility. Verify and repair the disk if needed. If the screen does not appear when booting this way try connecting to an external monitor to test the graphics processor.

good answer +

rj713,

The MacBook Air doesn't have a disk drive or Firewire port, so neither of those suggestions are applicable.

bushing,

Mayer stated external optical drive and that model will boot from USB so why the downtick?

rj713,

I made a correction on the "external".
