Sparked the logic board or battery on iPhone 4

I was replacing my screen (which was successful) but accidentally used a metal tool to remove the battery from the logic board. There were some sparks.
Now the phone over heats a bit. What's the long term damage? Should I look at replacing it? Or just get a new heat dispensing sticker?
