I have a component for that power cord!

History

I have a component that allows me to connect the power cord to the mains via that particular component. My question is whether i have to get a new power cord to suit the 230V in Sri Lanka, because it says 125V on the power cord :(, ... or can i just use the 125V power cord in the 230V mains via the component i have?

Omar, I believe you are referring to an adapter that lets you use the Canadian plug in the other outlet. Some of those are okay, some of those are not grounded. This will depends on that particular adapter The power cord will most likely tolerate the higher voltage.
