iPod 4g not turning on after screen replacement.

So I just received a new screen from iFixit and tested it before reassembly and it did NOTHING! What is the problem?! It doesn't show anything, even when it's plugged in. I might have damaged something during the replacement, but I think it's that the battery had been dead for two months and is ruined. I wanted to ask you guys before I order a part that I don't need.
