screen goes dark on startup.

History

Have had flickering problems after a couple hours work on it, so shut down and plug in. Now when I start it up, the screen comes up (OS 10.3) then it goes black--well, nearly black. I can faintly make out images on the screen. If I move the top back or forth just right, the screen pops on fine.

What do I need to do, or buy?

You're backlight is going or gone. You'd need a new display.
