Why does the engine stop when the brake is released?
The tractor starts fine but stops as I release the brake. The tractor is older but I've maintained it well and this is the first real problem. I've read everything I could find but none of ot isolates the problem.

chucky, not sure which model of mower you have, but I most certainly would check the safety switched. Most of the mowers definitely have a seat switch, and some have a brake switch as well.
