wii comes on but won't show picture on TV?

I get power to my wii but the output to the tv aint working. When I turn it on, there is no picture or sound. I took the console to my friends house & used her cords to hook-up to the tv, but still no picture or sound.

when i turn it on, it's green. when i turn it off, it's red.
