Would swapping the motherboards over work?
This question is archived. No new answers are allowed, and only the question's owner may edit it.
I got the Red light of death on my PS3 60GB for the first time last night , I managed to take it apart to retrieve a game disc ,
I left it to cool down for at least 12 hours and tried turning it on again , but it still did the same thing ; green light , beep , yellow light for .1 of a second , then flashing red light ,
I have been researching how to fix the RLOD or YLOD problem , but it just occurred to me that I could just swap the motherboard from the working 40GB and put it into the 60GB (the one that got the RLOD) - as all my save data, trophies etc are on the 60GB
I was just wondering if this would work or if the motherboards from the 40GB aren't compatible with the 60GB ,
I would rather ask first than try it out and something break even further ,
If anyone can help me it would be much appriciated ,
Many thanks
