Wine spillage and my MacBook screen..

History

Hi there,

I spilt red wine on the floor yesterday and my MacBook was stood on it's side, right end down to the carpet. I think red wine has also been spilt, or else seeped upwards, into the screen of the MacBook.

The screen does work in a fully functional manner however, at the upper and lower right corners there is evidence of water contamination, well that is to say two large sploges of red wine that are affecting the viewing of the screen.

As I say, the screen does work but I wanted to clean this off so the screen colours are as normal.

Can anyone tell me if the screen has a cover over the LCD, in the same way as the iPhone, or is the first layer of the screen (i.e, the one you can touch) the actual LCD ir is a plastic cover?

Can anyone help me with this problem???

Any help is much appreciated!

No unlike the MacBook unibody your MacBook has no glass or cover on the LCD panel. You might have to replace the LCD panel.

It's a cover, but NOT intended to be removed

Keep machine off and battery OUT until clean and dry (just 'cuz it booted once doesn't mean it will continue to). See this.

Good Luck,
