iPod won't appear on iTunes

My iPod won't appear on iTunes, but it appears as a USB... Can someone please help me get it back to it's original product settings. I have an iPod nano Gen 2 and a Windows 7 netbook.

i found if you go in right click hit format, then restore to defaults then reput ur music on and its like new
