hard drive data retrieval

I had an 80 gig ps3 i tried the YLOD repair. Needless to say no luck trying next i have a sata cable and a brand new ps3 anyway to transfer the data to my laptop then to my new ps3 ???

Unfortunately, due to the way SONY format's the PlayStation 3's hard drive every time it is installed into its's system, there is no way to retrieve the data without getting your current system repaired. Your laptop will not recognize the device because it is in the special PS3 format, and you cannot install it into another PS3 because it will just ask you to reformat it. Unfortunately, it does not look like you will be able to do so.
