No hdd in disk utility on cd boot only optical drive.

History

I assume I need to replace the hdd however not sure if the one you sell is compatible. The repair guide has a related part to buy but when I click on it is says it's not compatible with the 21.5" intel imac. Can anyone clarify?

Apple has installed Proprietary hard drives in this machine with special firmware with seven lead sensors. Ordinary hard drives will not work. You're going to have to get it directly from Apple.
