Vibrator not working, no bell on screen when toggling the mute switch?
I recently dropped my iPhone 4 from waist high onto a carpeted floor. At first glance my phone was fine. Later I received a text message and wondering why my iPhone didn't vibrate. I flipped the mute switch and no bell displayed on my screen and no sound can be heard from the phone. (except through earphones and playing a video etc) my iPhone is basically stuck on silent with no vibrate!!!
Can anyone tell me what might be wrong?
The iPhone is no longer under warranty.
I'm 100% capable of repairing my iPhone just need to know what part/s to replace.

It sounds like the flex cable may have been damaged when you dropped the phone. I would start with having the mute switch flex cable replaced. It is possible that you could have damaged the logic board in some way, but I would start there.

Krista, I am experiencing the same problem. Did you figure out the problem yet? Please let me know. My email is also johnbrabant AT yahoo.com if you have any answers. I have this problem coupled with a camera jamming and not working in the regular mode and only works when I access it through the message function. H-E-L-P!

So the vibrate doesn't work and the speakers no longer work?
Brent Huff,
The sound works through the headphones and bottom speaker fine. It's just like the phone is stuck on mute (but no vibration either) I can't hear messages or calls when I get them. Once again when I flip the mute switch nothing happens, no vibration no bell displaying on the screen but everything else works fine and no it's not a setting turned off. Only started happening since I dropped my iPhone.
Krista Exner ,
