Why won't my iPod turn on?

History

i recently replaced my digitizer and touch screen assembly, only to find out i had a faulty digitizer. An hour ago, i replaced it again, but when i plugged in the lcd cable to test the digitizer i couldn't get the ipod to turn on at all. i plugged it into my computer to see if it was dead, but it won't even recognize that my ipod is plugged in?

i've checked the power/volume cable and everything looks fine, but i'm not entirely sure what i'm looking for.

When checking my power cable, what exactly should i be looking for?

also, if its not the power cable, which i don't think it is, what else could be wrong? could i have somehow short circuited it? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Me 2. I have changed the digitizer and now it wont reboot. and it will not be recognized when i plug it into the computer. I have tried to put a multimeter on the battery. and it says 3.9 volt. So there is power. Cant find any loose or broken cirkets. I have tested the power from the power button flex cable. that goes from the power button to the motherboard. and its says 1.47 volt. But only from 1 of the four soldering. When plugt in to pc, shuldent it start up and itunes starting to run. even if flex cable is broken ?

I'm in the exact same situation as you. I replaced the lcd/digitizer last night and now it wont power on or be recognized by the computer or itunes. im still looking for an answer myself. if you happen to come across the reason please let me know. this is my 4th ipod 4th generation repair and ive never run into this issue before. i even tested the original cracked digitizer because i knew that worked and it did the same thing with that one hooked up.
