Can`t load iLife `09 DVD..

History

I`m using a Lacie DL DVD drive as neither of the above has a working internal optical drive. iLife `09 won`t mount on the desktop of either computer though it will on the iMac G5 we have here..(It`s a new family pack). I`ve tried making a disk image of iLife on the iMac in disk utility & transferring it directly to one of my external HD`s but it says the disc is too big....Would buying a new internal drive for one of these G4`s & installing be any help...( the drive in the Lacie DL DVD burner mentioned was recently replaced & works OK for anything else) The G4`s have the right specs according to what`s required on the slip in the iLife box..?

Start the receiving Mac up in target mode, via firewire. Use the G5 as the main computer. Drag the install icon from the DVD to the external hard drive. Now it's in place and will install if the machine specs are correct.

Target disk mode to the rescue! It's one of the features of a Mac that I love so much, yet it's also the one I rarely remember.

Josh Calvetti,

I`ve used target mode before but wasn`t quite sure of the modus operandi this time! The G5 isn`t my computer so it might take a while to get on it.. Thanks!

What OS are you using on the G4's. From what I read iLife 09 requires OS 10.5.6 to run. Ralph

I know you say you have the right specs but wanted to be sure of the OS. Ralph

rj713,

Both computers have Mac OS X 10.5.8..thanks for you interest!
