iPhone Battery smoke coming out.

History

I was putting my iphone 4 back together and turned it on, the battery got really hot and smoke started coming out of it. Does that mean that the motherboard might be fried too? Are any other parts on this phone affected?

if you can try please redo everything all over and make sure you didn't miss anything.

nope..calling 1800apple isn't the answer. this is "iFixit". As in the person asking the question repairs their own phone..apple won't be interested in repairing a phone that has been opened and repaired by a non apple approved repair person.

possibly..I'd buy a new battery and see what happens, your problem may also be the dock connector or the charger you used so it may be wise to check them too.
