How do I replace the Upper Unibody Case?
The trackpad of the MacBook Pro 17" Unibody cracked and no longer functions correctly. Is this type of damage covered under the Apple Care Warranty. If not, does anyone a tutorial on replacing it?

Sounds like the type of damage that would not be covered, but it is certainly worth a try contacting Apple about a replacement. Replacing the upper case means completely taking apart your machine and putting it back together. Although there is no guide for this, the teardown of this computer might be of some use.
