Perhaps I'm in the wrong place here as my question refers to a PC. Anyway, I keep an old Pentium 4 PC for backup and storing photos. Recently the disk is not recognised on startup and so I can not access the stored files. I have fitted a differernt HD to the PC and that works perfectly. is there some way I can reactivate/ repair the non responsive HD?
you're in the right place..this site isn't just about apple/mac, people repair whatever they need to and get advice on anything. We're very friendly people really :-)
pollytintop,
Does the drive still show in the BIOS of the PC when you plug it in? What drive is it? Any sound coming from the drive when you plug it into your PC? Have you had a chance to look at the PCB to see if there are any burnt looking components? Of course you made sure that your HDD cables are all okay....:-)
