LCD Terminal problem on logic board

History

When connecting any LCD display to my logic board, the actual display stays black but the backlight comes on. The phone itself works because when plugged into itunes everything works, and i have switched this logic board with others and I have found the the problem is isolated with the logic board itself. Now before I attempt replacing the LCD connecting terminal, is there anything else I should consider?

you could try just reheating the board, or the lcd connector, so the ic's and connectors get back in place

I will give it a try! Any tips on reheating it because im not really experienced with messing with the small components on a logic board.

Don Nguyen,

heat gun to the connector was a no-go, any other suggestions?

Don Nguyen,

check the area around the LCD connector and compare it to photo's on here of that area..check you haven't knocked any little parts off and they (capacitors etc) haven't blown. You'll need a multimeter with small tips to check the resistance on them. Also check the connector itself for bent pins or lifted solder joints from when you disconnected the LCD. You'll need a good magnifying lens.

pollytintop,

sorry about the late reply, but yeah look for missing or damaged chips, use a picture on here or a working board, for reheating what i do is, put some paste oh the parts i wanna heat, put the board on the tank, then fire away, not too much just until i see the solder the has melted, but i always try to make sure not to let any of the plastic melt, like the connector, and also the gold antenna, i try to make sure that doesnt fall off either, there you go my friend
