Three beeps when power connected. Tried new RAM, more info inside.

History

No matter what configuration I have, the computer starts up when the power is plugged in. Without hitting the power button.

With the original 1GB stick of RAM in it, it gives 3 short beeps, 3 long beeps, then 3 short beeps. A short pause, then repeats. The internal diagnostic lights have 1, 2, and 3 on solid with each case.

I've tried many different types of RAM (all 1GB modules), and here's my results:

444MHz: 3 short beeps repeating

555MHz: sometimes 3 short, sometimes 3-3-3

666MHz and 800MHz doesn't give video or beeps, but does power on

I've also pulled the CMOS battery for 20 minutes and it resulted in no change.

I've used an air compressor to dust out the RAM slots as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3 long tones, 3 short tones, 3 long tones Firmware restoration from CD in process. See About the Firmware Restoration CD (Intel-based Macs) for more details. Follow these directions for doing a firmware restoration: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2213

I didn't mention it above, but I did try that. It just continues to beep and after a few seconds ejects the disc. Nothing shows up on the screen at all, in any scenario.
