Water damage and icons barely visible.
same for me, sat in water overnight in italy. Powered on /off etc etc, now it works but screen is black so I can just barely see things when holding it in sunlight. need help.

colin, the first thing to do would be to clean your phone. Follow this guide to show you how. If you don't you might end up with corrosion damage later on. Since you can still see your icons, but they are very dim, it does sound like your backlight has failed. Once it is clean, reevaluate and if your LCD is unchanged, you will need to replace it. If that still will not resolve your problem, check the backlight coil and the backlight IC for further problems. It is possible that the coil or IC got shortened out. You will find some good instructions on youtube.com about the how to. Hope this helps, good luck.
