How to connect keyboard cable in MBP?

History

MacBook Pro 15" Santa Rosa

Well, I had a little problem with my keyboard a few weeks ago (could not type 'A') so I opened my laptop up according to Installing MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo Models A1226 and A1260 Keyboard and cleaned the keyboard up (hoping it would solve that problem)... But then I could not figure how to "slide the keyboard ribbon back into the connector" so I'm left with a laptop without a working keyboard... I've tried stuffing it back in but it would only go in about 1mm, not enough to make the connection... any way to connect it back in?

See step #11 of the guide you used.

the problem is that the guide does not show the outcome of flipping the flap up... anyone can post a photo of it? haha...

It's a cam - it lifts up (very gently from the insertion end) you insert the ribbon cable then push the cam back down.

how do i lift it up?

xkiller213,

Get a magnifying glass, examine the connector. Lift up the black plastic flap holding the ribbon in place (vertical ) slide in the ribbon, press down the flap.

machead3,
