Installing HHD WD Caviar Green

History

Hi, i want to change my HDD. And i need to know if its possible use WD Caviar Green in my iMac.

Thanks. But finally im gonna install black caviar model WD1002FAEX its more noisy but also faster than green caviar. But im not sure if my imac can use all the speed of black caviar...

Yes it will take a 1 TB to a 3 TB 3.5" SATA hard drive and smaller drives. The only problem you may run into is using the jumpers to slow the drive down to a transfer rate of 1.5 GHz, this info can be found on most drives by doing a search for the name of the drive and jumpers to get the setting. Yes, it is entirely possible to use that Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB hard drive in your iMac. Be sure to transfer the thermal sensor to the new dard drive as well.
