Charger exploded and 3gs is now dead

History

A dodgy wall charger exploded while charging my 3gs. The phone will no longer turn on or charge. I have replaced the battery (no change) and have purchased a dock connector which I will fit. If that doesn't work any other thoughts?

please help me. i have the same problem

Nick, if any of those things you are doing will not work, then check the charging fuse as well as the battery fuse. Look for any charred, burned, or missing components. Check the power management IC for any charring, etc.

Thanks oldturkey03. Sorry to say that Mr Stupid (yes me) ordered a dock connector ribbon in error and now need to wait for the complete dock connector unit to arrive before I can report back with good/bad news.
