intel iMac cooling mod?

History

my intel imac 17" has a bad screen that's already disconnected. if i remove the screen and glue a piece of acrylic on the front part of imac in place of screen will it affect the cooling system at all? also would it be ok to add fan onto the piece of acrylic? if so should the air blow in or out? thanks

I'd mount the fan over the processor and have it blow into the machine. Also, according to the monitor you're driving have a fan blowing onto the GPU.
