Can't restart... White screen

History

I have a imac a1224.

My town was hit with a tornado on march 3... We had no electric for 4 days. When I turn my imac on for the first time I was getting a white screen with the apple logo. would not do anything. I tried it again and then it wss just white. I left it on for about an hour. Still the same.so I restarted again. Then it went to a white screen with a folder and a "?" I seen some post about this so this is what I have tried... Option key at startup... Pram reset... Unplug everything... Waited for a few hours... Still same thing.. Every time I start it up its something different but still a white screen... Someone please help me.

The "?" means can't find a valid system folder to boot from... indication of HD problems... You should start by running your hardware test cd/dvd. If that does not work or gives you little information use IDing your Mac, to open it up following the guide and follow this LED troubleshooting guide from a similar problems Answer.

I suspect that a power interruption or surge may have damaged the logic board, and/or other parts to this machine. If you have home owners insurance you may wish to file a claim.
