LCD or front panel?

I have an iPhone 3G where certain parts of the touchscreen are not responsive to my touch (mostly in the middle).

Can you tell me if this functionality is within the LCD screen itself (your part #IF137-001-1), or the touchscreen glass front panel (your part #IF137-000-1)?

Or is there some other part you sell that will fix this problem?

Thank you -

If you are only having problems with the touch functionality, then you need to replace the Front Panel. We also sell a Front Panel Kit that includes the tools (except for the heat-gun/hair dryer) that you need for the replacement.
