Why won't my tv turn on?

Samsung TV

Model Number: UN55EH6001FXZA

When we tried to turn on the tv, the screen would "blink" and you could tell that it was "on" but there was nothing on the screen to view. The standby light would flash when we use the remote/button to turn the tv on but after the tv blinks and remains on a black screen, the standby light remains on. We have attempted multiple troubleshoots but nothing has worked. As of 3/27/2024, the tv is not turning on and there is no standby light. We have taken the back off to see what is going on with the panels but they seem normal.

Attached are the images of the panels:

I have not checked the LED backlights.

I do not know entirely how to check if they are bad or not.. especially since it seems there is no power coming through the tv :( But help would be appreciated before we toss money at it or scrap it. Whatever comes first!!

Thank you so much 🙌

@nalutorr to bad you already took the boards out :-). Anyhow this "there is no standby light" is the power board. No matter what, if you do not have the power LED indicate that you have standby voltage, it's your power board. Samsung had a run of bad IC's and MOSFETS on these boards. If it would be my TV I'd start with that.

The blinking and flickering it did before could be the backlight strips but it could also have been the power board all along.

Hi @nalutorr,

As @oldturkey03 mentioned Samsung had a bad batch of components at one time, so much so that there's even a repair kit for the power board, which has the most likely requisite component replacements.

Maybe something to consider if you're good with a soldering iron.

@jayeff that would be an excellent idea. that way one would know that the high failure rate parts have been replaced. It'll make it a big more reliable!
