How to disable the front camera?

History

Hi,

I managed to save the iPhone 4 of my friend who remained under a tap running for over an hour. The motherboard works, it's incredible that is, elements that do not work are:

- LCD (dead) (repairable)

- Proximity sensor (repairable)

- Front camera (irreparable)

The front camera is most affected by water damage. The connector of the front camera of the motherboard died.

I tested with another front camera, but to no avail. The camera still does not work.

In addition, when we switch camera (from the back to the front) there is no possibility to return back to the rear camera. The shutter is closed and the switch button is not visible. What prevents them from using the back camera. If he wants to use the back camera, he is obliged to restore the phone so the rear camera is opened at the opening of camera.app on first use.

So I wonder if there was a way to disable the switch of the camera front, with the jailbreak or an application or a restriction.

Thank you in advance for your help.

There's the video on how to disable your front-facing-camera. This will help you to never "accidentally" flip the broken front-facing-camera on.

Sorry for the response time. Thank you very much your solution with iFile works perfectly! THANK YOU FOR YOU HELP!

Try this:

Closing the Camera.app by pressing the home button.

Next, open the app switcher (multitasking pane) by double clicking the home button.

Press and hold the Camera icon until it starts to jiggle about.

Tap the little red circle that appears on the now jiggling icon to actually close the app.

Now reboot the iPhone (press and hold home+sleep buttons) and ignore the slider that appears.

After the reboot try to open the camera again. And tell your friend to get used to not using the frontal camera and to ignore the switcher button.

The phone does not need to be restored every time.

Question: Is the phone jailbroken?

Ok i will try by an hard reset. No the iPhone isn't jailbroken. I tell you something when i try this method.

carlitostyle30,

Hi, I tried with an hard reset but it dosen't work. I told him to not open the camera.app, he understand. Or maybe we can try with an application who only use the rear camera. Thank you for your help.
