will iPad2 battery would fit?

History

Does connectors and voltage of iPad 2 battery matches iPad 3 ? If it would be possible to downgrade battery to get lighter iPad 3 that could be useful :-)

It's not going to work in the end

even if you could adapt it, there is no guarantee it will work

I agree with nick. You would also lose a good portion of your battery life. That quad core graphics processor needs alot of juice.
