Sim Card Not Recognized After Water Damage/Repair

So I had given up on this iPhone for awhile now. There is a lot of history behind what has happened to the phone to this day. I just keep it around now to make all of my extra cases feel like they are doing their job! Recently I was able to get it out of recovery mode and used a jailbreak to get it to boot up. However it will not accept any sim card so I cannot load up the device to the main screen!

The short version of the story is that I dropped my phone in some water. It showed signs that it was still working. I took the phone in to have them fix the screen locally. I ended up getting screwed around for a month and got my phone back with a fixed screen! On my way home I realized it was dropping calls and failing almost every message I sent. I took it back and they gave it back a week later bricked. I did argue enough to get my money back and was able to keep the free LCD+digitizer installed. But my phone was junk. After about 8 months I finally gave it another go and had some success. I believe I used GreenPoison to load a custom version of iOS on the iPhone. But now the phone will not recognize any sim card I put in there and I can't get any further :(
