Is there a way to pull the ipod shuffle (2nd generation) apart in order to dry it out? This was due to it inadvertantly going thru a laundry cycle.

Of course you can you here iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation Teardown if it was mine personally I would use some rubbing alcohol and fine toothbrush to clean it up a bit and rinse it with distilled water ,shake it out let it dry , do not use a hair dryer to speed it up you can melt solder unless you have a no heat option , good luck.
