I'd like to know if there was water damage done to the laptop, if not i think you should try booting it into recovery mode

A hot board is a sign of high current draw. You need to ID the hot part. It could be part of the CPU power supply. That might indicate a bad CPU. If the CPU is hot, that would also indicate a bad CPU. OR the CPU PSU is putting out to much voltag to the CPU.

@keithmazyopa start disassembling our laptop and let's see what you got going on here. Use something like this video to work on it. Once you have it disassembled, take some good pictures of the board. Then post those with your Question. It will allow us to see what you see. Also, verify that it is the board that gets hot and not the battery. Adding images to an existing question
