My Laptop was off when my small rabbit wizzed on it. What should I do?

History

My Intel MacBook Pro A1286 was not plugged in when my very small rabbit wizzed on the left top of my keyboard. What must I do? I am too scared to turn it on now!!

First remove the battery if you haven't already. Then open it up as much as you can and clean up the mess. You need to remove the urine as that will be very damaging to the electronics. After cleaning and drying prop upside down and let dry for several days before trying to turn it on. If you feel uneasy about any of this take it to Apple now. Good luck and if anyone has other ideas feel free to jump in. Ralph

I have removed the battery immediatly...and held it upside down...and urine came out...and then left it outside in the shade, were it was windy for couple of hours..

Nolte,

Majesty's suggestion of using isopropyl alcohol is a good one. I agree with him. Ralph

rj713,

Thanks for your Quick Response

Nolte,

++ for the battery suggestion, completely slipped my mind.

DO NOT POWER IT ON!!!.. If possible remove the topcase and use q-tips with isopropyl alcohol to rid of excess moisture and store the machine in a bag with rice if possible. You have done right by not powering it on. You can search here under "liquid Spill" or "water damage" for more ideas from other posts. I would not power it on for a few days, even after the clean-up.

Hi there, The Qtips isopropyl alcohol...where can I buy it? Yes!! It was not plugged in at that time...and never did after the accident...and the big problem is not to plug it in for few days...The comp. is my work!!!!

Nolte,

You can get isopropyl alcohol at any grocery store or pharmacy. Just make sure you don't get RUBBING alcohol as that has a higher water concentration.

Majesty,

I understand your situation but being hasty in this situation can cost you a beautiful machine. Just be patient and you'll have a higher chance of successfully saving your machine. NOTE: the isopropyl alcohol and q-tips are two separate products.

Majesty,

Ok..Thanks will keep you up to date!!!

Nolte,

Ok, good luck!!!
