What speed of new HD?

I have to replace my hard drive, I'm growing out of the current one. I was looking at a 500GB 7200 RPM, but I've read that the faster drives generate considerably more heat. The 5400 gets incredibly hot at times so I'm a little wary of the 7200 option. Any ideas, please.

The days of overheating on the faster drives is long over. The 7200 will work just fine.
