OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5630A Fail

History

Hi,

My 12.7 mm PATA 8x Optiarc Super Drive has failed in my 24" 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo extreme, so now I'm in need of a replacement, have read a lot about this drive in various forums where it's plagued with the same problems..

So I'm looking for an alternative, would the 12.7 mm PATA 8x Pioneer Super Drive be OK for my machine..?
